Why Did Oprah Help Senator Obama Play the Race Card in South Carolina?

President Obama owes much of his election victory to Oprah. Yet, how much did Oprah sacrifice in helping President Obama one has to ask. After all, Oprah’s ratings have slid a bit, and contrary to popular belief, Obama did not win by a landslide, albeit he did win by a somewhat comfortable margin as US President Politics have gone in the last decade. There are a huge number of people who will not watch Oprah and turn off the TV or flip the channel when she comes on.

Now before you tell me, I do not know what I am talking about, let me tell you that I am one of them, and most of my family is too, and nearly all of my “good’ friends hesitate to watch her programming. Her follow up involvement after the election has also been very pro-Obama. Is Oprah’s continued interests in politics hurting her success? Yes, very much so I believe, and if she went off the air tomorrow and never did another talk show, or interview I wouldn’t care one bit.

Am I upset with Oprah? No, more disappointed. I did enjoy her work with literacy in the US and used to tune in when she interviewed influential people, no longer. But this partisan politics of Hollywood, and the media is well-known, Oprah is merely one person who took advantage of her brand and viewers to propel her personal political agenda. It’s too bad our media celebrities cannot keep their mouths shut or stay neutral.

In fact, I’d go so far as to say that the race-baiting which occurred in South Carolina against former President Clinton, was the deciding point in the Presidential Election Democrat nomination process. In fact, after that point no one could critique Junior Senator Obama’s stance on any issue without being called a racist, which is rather disconcerting for many Americans, which did not and still don’t approve of his socialist-liberal viewpoints of the direction he’s leading our nation. Please consider all this. At this time Romania also immediately organized this routine event. Presedinte Romania Election held in 2019 will be the determination of the fate of Romanian people in the next 10 years.
